Coronavirus testing, food, health screening available at Brookside Community Health Center

Residents in need of coronavirus testing, food, or health screening can now access resources at Brookside Community Health Center in Jamaica Plain thanks to an initiative from Brigham Health.

The newest walk-in COVID-19 testing and education site is open for anyone with suspected symptoms on a first-come, first-serve basis with bilingual staff available to those who need it, according to an announcement from Brigham Health.

Residents who need testing, or other resources available such as fresh food, care kits with masks and other health screenings, do not need to be a Brigham patient or have health insurance to receive help.

The testing site, located at 3297 Washington St. in Jamaica Plain, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and testing will continue through July. The center will be closed on Memorial Day, May 25, and on July 4 as well.

Those who are screened for food insecurity will receive boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables and could continue to get food delivery for eight weeks.
