One man died and another was wounded following reports of shots fired in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood last night — a crime scene that quickly became hostile for responding officers.
A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the hospital following the 10 p.m. call and another sustained non-life threatening injuries, said police Commissioner William Gross.
A third man fled the scene, Gross added, tossing two firearms as he ran. He was quickly arrested.
Gross said officers were “met with great hostility from a hostile crowd” upon arrival at the at the Heath Street housing development, located near the Jackson Square MBTA station.
This is the fourth homicide of the week and the police called in the emergency deployment team to help cool down the crowd.
