Boston launches small business support program amid coronavirus pandemic

Small businesses in Boston that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic will now have access to new resources, including a tool that lets essential businesses alert customers that they are still open and a guidebook for offering take-out and delivery that groceries and pharmacies can use, Mayor Martin Walsh announced Wednesday.

“During this challenging time, we are doing everything we can to support the small businesses that are the lifeblood of our communities,” Walsh said in a statement.

The resources, created through the city’s Office of Economic Development, and are available on the city’s small business page and the city’s economic development page.

In addition to announcing the new program, Walsh encouraged residents to continue supporting local businesses in whatever ways they can, such as buying gift cards or ordering take out.
